Cílem práce bylo nalezení odpovědi na to, zda je nabídka vzdělávacích kurzů, seminářů a programů v oborech pedagogika, speciální pedagogika, psychologie, pediatrie apod., programů zaměřených na rozvoj osobnosti pěstouna, akcí s volnočasovými aktivitami nebo relaxační pobyty pěstounů sdružených ve třech vybraných organizacích na území Hl. města Prahy dostatečná nebo nedostatečná a zda je o tyto pořádané akce mezi pěstouny zájem. As a subject matter of my dissertation I opted for "Education of foster parents by means of professional educational courses, seminars, programs etc." I believe that educational seminars and also programs developing forest parents ́personality, events enabling them to share their pleasures and worries with other foster parents or just relaxing events are not only enrichment to their lives but are also necessary and beneficial. Within the framework of my dissertation I worked with the offer of three private organizations operating in the region of the capital city of the Czech Republic - Prague: Středisko náhradní rodinné péče, sdružení Rozum a cit and Fond ohrožených dětí. I carried out a survey whether their offer of courses, seminars and programs is sufficient and satisfactory not only considering their extend but also regarding the satisfaction of all needs of forest parents. Moreover, I tried to investigate whether there is any interest on the side of forest parents. In order to find the answer I used the statistical figures provided by the organizations and the results of a questionnare given to chosen forest parents.
