Práce usiluje o deskripci a teologické zhodnocení vztahu Českobratrské církve evangelické ke státu a společnosti v jednání jejích synodů. Celá práce se svým pojetím zabývá otázkou, zda českobratrská církev v daném období plnila své poslání vůči společnosti a do jaké míry přitom zůstala věrna svému universálnímu založení, resp. do jaké míry ztotožnila své poslání s dobovými nároky společenskými a státními. This diploma work attempts to describe and theologically evaluate the relationship between the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren and the Czech state and society in proceedings of the evangelical synods. It concentrates to a period of 1918 to 1969, from the establishment of the Church till its 16th synod. The work is devided into three parts. In the beginning of each part, external historical, political and social conditions of the Church and position of the Church in the society are gradually introduced. Next, some essential theological and practical problems the church has to deal with in the relationship with the state and the society are presented. Each of the parts ends with a teological reflexion and an evaluation of the presented teological praxis of the church. The main purpose of this diploma work is to examine whether the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren fulfilled its mission in the society, how much it was loyal to its general substance and how much its mission was reconcilable with contemporary social and state claims.
