The purpose of my work is to present the problematics associated with the relationship between church and state in South Africa in the period which culminates in apartheid in the twentieth century. I will examine the role of the reformed church before, at the beginning and during apartheid. I will also point out the significance of the other local Christian churches throughout the South African conflict.
