Users’ approach to the evaluation of school atlases. The aim of the presented research was to investigate the users’ criteria on selected school atlases. The research sample included 120 pupils at one Czech lower secondary school. During a structured interview pupils were asked to comment on four atlases published by four different publishing houses. Pupils mostly assessed map readability and comprehensible colourfulness of atlases as well as graphical features, namely photographs, pictures and drawings, as well as narrative features. Results provide new impulses for further development of educational cartography
