The paper aimed at comparing the transport of suspended sediments in four model river basins, which are mutually comparable as to their area (350-400 km2) and also represent different geographical environments within the territory of the Czech Republic. For model river basins were developed erosion risk models based on a multi-criterion scale evaluation of chief erosion factors and were implemented as a grid models in the GIS environment. The suspended sediment transport was evaluated for closing profiles of model river basins, mostly for a hydrological period 1985-2000. We defined basic types of run-off situations to characterise the relationship between the content of suspended sediments and the water flow.
