| dc.description | The mystical language is described by its paradoxical nature between the necessity of expression and the impossibility of finding words to represent it. We intend to analyze some possible connectionsbetween the paradox of „ineffability“ and some rhetorical devices, which are connected to thetopos of humility as described by Ernst Curtius. Teresa might have used some of these devices, suchas captatio benevolentiae, as an attemt to aprehend her experience. | |
