Resumé a klíčová slova Diplomová práce: Ochrana kulturního dědictví v mezinárodním právu trestním Resumé Smyslem této diplomové práce je především ukázat, jak se posupně vyvíjelo pojetí ochrany kulturního dědictví v mezinárodním právu trestním, zvláštní pozornost je pak věnována vývoji v posledních letech, který jsem ilustroval s pomocí případu Al Mahdi, ničení kulturního dědictví v Timbuktu před Mezinárodním trestním soudem. Práce je rozdělena do tří částí. První část je deskriptivního charakteru a jejím smyslem je vymezení základních pojmů, vymezení problematiky ochrany kulturního dědictví, její zasazení do mezinárodního práva, dále pak role mezinárodních smluv a mezinárodních organizací a konečně i to, jakým způsobem se k ochraně kulturního dědictví staví mezinárodní právo trestní. Důraz je zde kladen také na nastínění postupného vývoje v pojetí a ochraně kulturního dědictví a vysvětlení důvodů, které k tomu vedly. Druhá část práce se zaměřuje především na případ Al Mahdi, který byl projednáván před Mezinárodním trestním soudem. Samotnému popisu řízení před soudem předchází stručná charakteristika situace v Mali během předmětného období a rovněž popis lokality, která byla poškozena. and Key words Master's Thesis: Protection of Cultural Heritage in International Criminal Law Abstract The aim of this master's thesis is mostly showing progressive development in understanding of protection of cultural heritage in International Criminal Law. There is special focus on development in recent years which is illustrated by Al Mahdi case- destroying cultural heritage in Timbuktu before International Criminal Court. This thesis is subdivided into three parts. The firts part is of descriptive nature and its goal is definition of basic notions, specification of issue of protection of cultural heritage and its setting in International Law. It also covers role of international agreements and international organizations in this issue. Finally it examines how International Criminal Law deals with protection of cultural heritage as well. There is stress on explanation of progressive development in understanding of protection of cultural heritage and reasons that caused it.
