Život řádových sester de Notre Dame

Abstract

Ve své práci se autorka zabývá underlifem řádových sester de Notre Dame, a to ve dvou vybraných komunitách v Praze Krči a v Horažďovicích. Celý koncept této práce je postaven na teorii totální instituce tak, jak jí ve svém knize Asylums prezentuje Erving Goffman. V teoretické části seznamuje diváka jak s Goffmanovou teorií totální instituce a jejími částmi jako je primární a sekundární přizpůsobení na instituci a také s teorií underlife. Dále se zde autorka zaměřuje na kritiku Goffmanovy teorie totální instituce. Následně se zde autorka věnuje zachování řádu v řeholní instituci. Praktická část se poté dotýká vybraných částí tohoto underlife, a to personifikace oblečení, financí sester a dodržování oficiálních pravidel řádu v jednotlivých komunitách řádových sester de Notre Dame. V závěru se věnuje zodpovězení výzkumných otázek a porovnání obou zkoumaných komunit. Tyto poznatky poté propojuje s Goffmanovou teorií totální instituce a jejího underlife. Autorka práce dochází ke shodě s Goffmanovou teorií, avšak její výsledky jsou méně markantní než ty, které prezentuje Goffman. V této oblasti se tedy připojuje i k jeho kritikům. Na závěr autorka uvádí další možné pokračování její práce a její využití pro aktuální témata ohledně zavádění uniforem na českých školách.

The author deals with the underlife of the sisters of De Notre Dame, in the two selected communities in Prague and in Horažďovice. The whole concept of this work is based on the theory of the total institution as Erving Goffman presents in his book Asylums. In the theoretical part, the audience is acquainted both Goffman's theory and with its parts, such as primary and secundary adaptation, and with underlife theory. Next topic is critique of Goffmans theory and how is order maintained in religious institutions. The practical part then touches selected parts of the underlife, such as the personification of clothes, the sisters finances and the observance of the official rules of the community. After that author answer her research questions and compare the two communities. This knowledge is then connected with Goffmans theory. The author of the work coincides with Goffman's theory, but her results are less obvious than those presented by Goffman. In this part, she also associates with his critics. In conclusion the author provides possible continuation of her work and its usage regarding issues concerning the introduction of uniforms at Czech schools.
