Kateřina Grmelová Pražská a florentská neorenesanční architektura 19. století: Kulturně-historické souvislosti a komparace vybraných staveb s renesančními vzory Prague and Florentine Neo-Renaissance Architecture of the 19th Century: Cultural and Historical Background and Comparison of Selected Edifices with the Models from the Renaissance Era ABSTRAKT Disertační práce se zabývá kulturně-historickými souvislostmi, které ovlivnily podobu architektury 19. století a vedly v Praze a ve Florencii k oblibě neorenesanční architektury. V disertační práci jsou porovnávány vybrané neorenesanční stavby z Prahy a Florencie s jejich renesančními vzory. Teoretická část práce nastiňuje historickou a kulturní situaci 19. století v českých zemích a v Itálii, aby bylo snazší pochopit ideové zdroje neorenesance a odhalit její propojení s tehdejší společností, jejími myšlenkami, hodnotami a schopnostmi vyrovnávat se se změnami. Z této oblasti jsou akcentovány ty momenty, které měly vliv na podobu architektury 19. století. Na základě analýzy dobových i současných textů k danému tématu popisuje důvody, proč se v českých zemích a Itálii obracela historizující, a tím pádem i neorenesanční architektura pro svou inspiraci do minulosti, proč byla ve své době tak oblíbená a jaké názory na tuto epochu měli významní teoretikové...

It compares selected Neo-Renaissance edifices in Prague and Florence with the models from the Renaissance era. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the milieu of the 19th century with the objective to better understand the ideological sources of the Neo-Renaissance architecture and thus point to its connections with the society, its ideas, values and ability to deal with changes. There are described only the moments which formed the visual aspect of the 19th century architecture.
