Intervence USA v Iráku v roce 2003 jakožto příčina roztržky mezi členskými státy NATO

Abstract

Diplomová práce se zabývá rozhodnutím amerického prezidenta George W. Bushe intervenovat v roce 2003 v Iráku a rozdílností názorů na tento konflikt, která v období před druhou iráckou válkou vznikla v rámci NATO, zejména mezi USA a Velkou Británii na straně jedné a Francií a Německem na straně druhé. Pro analýzu těchto témat je použito několika vybraných realistických konceptů např. změny rovnováhy moci nebo bezpečnostního dilematu. Tato diplomová práce zkoumá vztah USA k irácké krizi v roce 2003 z širšího pohledu nového bezpečnostního kontextu, který vzniknul po teroristických útocích z 11. září 2001. This Master's thesis is concerned with the decision of American president George W. Bush to intervene in Iraq in 2003 and the differing attitudes towards this conflict- which emerged within NATO, especially between the USA and Great Britain on the one hand and France and Germany on the other before the Second Iraq War. Several chosen realistic concepts, for example changing the balance of power or security dilemma, were used to analyse these topics. This Master's thesis examines the relation of the USA to the Iraqi crisis in 2003 from the wider perspective of the new security context, which has appeared after the terrorist attacks on the September 11th, 2001.
