Abstract

The aim of this diploma thesis is to compare the life of the Bohemian queen Judith of Habsburg with lives of her sisters. Six chapters of the thesis are gradually dedicated to the topic of the position of noble women in the High Middle Ages, the origin of Judith and her sisters, their parents. Moreover, the attention is drawn to the circumstances of the engagement of Habsburg princesses and further on to their individual lives with the emphasis on their family contacts. Due to the fact that Judith's life became the subject of my bachelor thesis, the new focus of the research has been put primarily on the lives of her sisters.

Cílem mé diplomové práce je srovnat život české královny Guty Habsburské s životy jejích sester. V šesti kapitolách se postupně věnuji problematice urozených žen ve vrcholném středověku, původu Guty a jejích sester, jejich rodičům, okolnostem zasnoubení habsburských princezen a dále jejich jednotlivými životy s důrazem na rodinné kontakty. Vzhledem k tomu, že jsem se Gutině životu věnovala již v bakalářské práci, těžištěm mého nového výzkumu se staly především životy jejích sester.
