Ethnoscapes a socioscapes: Praha ve zkušenostech vietnamských imigrantů

Abstract

Bakalářská práce "Ethnoscapes a socioscapes: Praha ve zkušenostech vietnamských imigrantů" se primárně věnuje vietnamské komunitě a jejímu pohybu po Praze. Je inspirována projektem spojeným s osobou Waltera Benjamina, který si při pobytu v Paříži vedl poznámky o místech, kde se pohyboval. Přestože jsou Vietnamci vděčným tématem v médiích, nedomnívám se, že je veřejnost dostatečně o této komunitě informována. Práce je založena na kvalitativním výzkumu, v rámci něhož proběhlo 5 polostrukturovaných narativních rozhovorů v jedné vietnamské rodině žijící dlouhodobě v Praze. V první části se věnuje historii vietnamské imigrace na území ČR a současné situaci, dále se zabývá teoretickými východisky a krátkým vymezením používaných pojmů. Druhá část blíže rozebírá použitou metodologií a průběh jednotlivých rozhovorů. Odkazuje také na literaturu zabývající se tímto tématem a na již proběhlé výzkumy. Poslední část blíže charakterizuje jednotlivé respondenty a jejich pohyb po Praze, zároveň také analyzuje respondenty mezi sebou a snaží se najít určité podobnosti, tendence a charakteristiky. Nedílnou součástí práce jsou i přiložené mapy, které vizuálně zachycují pohyb respondentů a slouží k lepší ilustraci zmiňovaných míst pro čtenáře.

The Bachelor Thesis "Ethnoscapes and socioscapes: Prague in the experience of Vietnamese immigrants" is primarily focused on the Vietnamese community and its movement in Prague. It is inspired by a similar project connected to Walter Benjamin, who took notes on places where he lived during his stay in Paris. Even though the Vietnamese are very often repeated topic in the mass media I assume that the public is not adequately informed about this community. The work is based on qualitative research, which took place within five semi-structured narrative interviews in one Vietnamese family permanently living in Prague. The first part is concentrated on the history of Vietnamese immigration in Czech Republic and their current situation. It also discusses the theoretical basis and brings a brief definition of used terms. The second part examines more closely methodology and the progress of individual interviews. It also refers to the literature on this topic and the researches that has been already made. The last part describes more closely individual respondents and their movement in Prague, while also compares respondents with each other and tries to find some similarities, trends and characteristics.
