Unie pro Středomoří: Francie jako iniciátor nového projektu

Abstract

Bakalářská práce "Unie pro Středomoří: Francie jako iniciátor nového projektu" pojednává o tématu nového projektu francouzského prezidenta Nicolase Sarkozyho, který se zabývá problematikou vzájemných vztahů zemí v oblasti Středozemního moře. Práce zachycuje období od první Sarkozyho zmínky ohledně jeho nové iniciativy z Toulonu v únoru 2007 až po oficiální započetí procesu v červenci 2008, přičemž pro kompletnost tématiky je zmíněn i předchozí vývoj evropských a francouzských politik k regionu Středomoří. Předkládaná práce poukazuje na zásadní roli Francie ve vytváření koncepce projektu Unie pro Středomoří, kdy jejím hlavním cílem je odůvodnit jednání a postoje Francie, v čele s Nicolasem Sarkozym. Tyto cíle jsou zjišťovány především prostřednictvím analýzy Sarkozyho oficiálních veřejných vystoupení. Dále pak se práce snaží najít odpověď na otázku, zdali se Sarkozymu podařilo prosadit původní formu projektu, a jakou roli hrály na jeho finální podobě ostatní zainteresované státy spolu s orgány Evropské unie.

Thesis "Union for the Mediterranean: France as an initiator of a new project" deals with the subject of a new project of the French President Nicolas Sarkozy, which concerns en issue of mutual relations among the states in the area of the Mediterranean Sea. This work describes a period of time beginning with the first Sarkozy's notice about his new initiative in Toulon in February 2007 and ending with the official start of the process in July 2008. For the completeness of the theme, it includes previous attempts of both European and French policy in this region as well. Presented work highlights a major role of France in the building up of the concept of the project Union for the Mediterranean, when the main objective is to give reasons to actions and attitude of France, represented by Nicolas Sarkozy. These aims are primarily found out on the bases of the analysis of official speeches given by Sarkozy. Furthermore, this work strives to answer the question, whether Sarkozy managed to push through his proposal the way he wanted, and how other states and organs of the EU influenced the final version of this project.
