Oslava kultu svatého Mikuláše v Bari. Tradice a rituály a jejich význam pro místní obyvatele.

Abstract

Cílem bakalářské práce bylo pojednat o fenoménu kultu svatého Mikuláše jako patrona města Bari. Byla provedena analýza tradice jako náboženské, kulturní, historické i společenské události a byl zkoumán její význam pro místní obyvatele, a to především pro mladou generaci, na pozadí historického kontextu. Metodou studie byla analýza a interpretace dotazníků, odborné literatury a terénního výzkumu. Práce by také měla sloužit jako nahlédnutí do mentality obyvatel jižní a zároveň nejvýchodnější části Itálie - Apulie, kde je v lidech silně zakořeněná zbožnost a smysl pro tradici. Oslavy kultu sv. Mikuláše zde patří k nejvýznamnějším oslavám celého roku. Tento kult je pro místní obyvatele symbolem identifikace a také tzv. pojítkem mezi východním a západním světem. Sv. Mikuláš je prezentován jako světec dialogu a míru. Tyto oslavy i dnes spojují lidi a přivádějí do města poutníky z celého světa. Účelem bylo pozorovat tradiční rituály jako symbolické translace, historické průvody, procesí, vyloďování sochy a také popis tradičních kostýmů, místní kuchyně a zábavy. V závěrečné části je zamyšlení nad významem těchto oslav v dnešním globalizovaném a chaotickém světě. Bylo zajímavé sledovat, do jaké míry si tato tradice zachovává svůj náboženský a duchovní charakter a do jaké míry se z ní stává spíše komerční...

in English The aim of present bachelor thesis is to observ, describe and analyze the phenomenon of the Cult of St. Nicholas in Bari, who is also patron saint of the town. The thesis discusses the tradition as a religious, cultural, historical and social event as well as its meaning for the local people, especially the young generation. The methods used in the thesis consisted of the analysis and interpretation of questionnaires, literature and field research. The thesis is also concerned with the mentality of the people from southern and easternmost part of Italy. Saint Nicholas represents the symbol of unity and identification for local people, as well as the bridge between eastern and western world. He is also seen as patron saint of dialogue and peace. The Cult and its celebrations still connect people, believers and also no-believers in these days and has also become important for many pilgrims from all over the world. The object was to observ rituals as a symbolic translation, processions and also to describe traditional costumes and local cuisine and entertainment. The conclusion of the thesis contemplates the meaning of the celebrations in present-day globalised and chaotic world and also how far the tradition has retained its religious and spiritual character and how far it has rather become...
