Abstract

Název bakalářské práce: Odraz historických událostí v díle Voltaira-Candide Klíčová slova: Voltaire Teologické otázky Filosofické otázky Historie Kritika Bakalářská práce na téma Odraz historických událostí v díle Voltaira-Candide se zabývá pohledem autora na soudobé a historické události zmíněné v Candidovi. Cílem práce je shrnout základní Voltairovy myšlenky týkajících se vybraných historických jevů a podat autorův názor a vysvětlení těchto událostí. Práce je koncipována do pěti kapitol. První kapitola poskytuje stručný přehled významných momentů ze života autora. Následující kapitola se dělí na tři sekce. První část se zaobírá základními náboženskými a filosofickými koncepty autora. Ve druhé sekci je nastíněna kritika Leibnizovy teorie «Tout est bien dans le meilleur des mondes possibles». Třetí podkapitola se věnuje Voltairovu pohledu na Inkvizici. Ve třetí kapitole se pojednává o jezuitských misiích do Jižní Ameriky, zejména do Paraguaye. Ve čtvrté kapitole se zaobíráme Voltairovou kritikou otroctví. Poslední kapitole je věnována kritice válečných konflitů. Jednotlivé syntézy jsou výsledkem jednak srovnávání rozličných Voltairových děl, stejně tak i inspirací odborné literatury.

Title of the thesis: A reflection of historical events in Voltaire's writing - Candide Key words: Voltaire Theological questions Philosophical questions History Critique This Bachelor's thesis A reflection of historical events in Voltaire's writing - Candide deals with Voltaire's view on the contemporary and historical events in Candide. The aim of the thesis is to sum up Voltaire's basic ideas related to historical events and to provide the author's views regarding these events. The thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter provides a concise summary of the most important moments of Voltaire's life. The second chapter is subdivided into three sub-sections and follows up the religious questions and their impact on historical events. The first sub-section of the second chapter deals with the elementary concepts of the author concerning theological and philosophical questions. The second sub-section denounces the Leibniz's conception of the Optimism «All is good». The third sub-section provides the critique of the Inquisition. The third chapter deals with the Jesuits' missions in South America, mainly in Paraguay. In the fourth chapter we attempt to explain Voltaire's rejection of slavery.
