Využití metody Constraint-induced Movement Therapy (CIMT) u neurologických pacientů s hemiparézou

Abstract

Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy je forma terapie, která pomáhá pacientům po poškození centrálního nervového systému zahrnout používání své více poškození horní končetiny do běžných denních činností a to nejen v průběhu terapie, ale klade důraz na její přenesení do domácího prostředí. Těžiště Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy spočívá v omezení hybnosti méně poškozené horní končetiny a tím dochází k nucenému používání více postižené horní končetiny. Postižená horní končetina je využívána 3 až 6 hodin denně po dobu 2-3 týdnů terapie. V terapii se využívá nácviku reálných a pro pacienta smysluplných aktivit.

The Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy is a form of therapy intended for patients who suffered a damage of their central nervous system. The therapy helps the patients to include the use of the affected upper limb in everyday activities, and transfer the learned use from the clinic to their home environment. The basis of the Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy is limiting the movement of the less affected upper limb, thus forcing the patient to use the more affected limb. The therapy lasts 2 to 3 weeks and the patient is required to use the affected limb for 3 to 6 hours each day. The therapy trains the use of realistic activities useful for the patient.
