Britská diplomacie a emancipace regionu Río de la Plata 1806-1828

Abstract

Rigorózní práce Britská diplomacie a emancipace regionu Río de la Plata, 1806 - 1828 předkládá analýzu diplomatického působení Velké Británie v regionu Río de la Plata v období válek za nezávislost Latinské Ameriky. Vedle vylíčení dlouhodobých předpokladů a bezprostředních příčin vzniku nezávislých států Argentiny a Uruguaje věnuje autor hlavní prostor rozboru aktivit Foreign Office v laplatském regionu v průběhu jeho politické emancipace. Diplomatická aktivita Velké Británie přispěla zásadním způsobem k ukončení argentinskobrazilské války a otevřela cestu k ustavení nezávislého uruguayského státu.

The thesis entitled British Diplomacy and the Emancipation of the River Plate Region, 1806 - 1828 presents the diplomatic activity of Great Britain in the River Plate region during the War of Independence of Latin America. The main part of the study analyzes the long-term presumptions and immediate causes of the genesis of Independent Argentina and Uruguay as well as the Foreign Office activity in the River Plate region during the process of its political emancipation. The British Diplomacy essentially contributed to termination of the Argentine-Brazilian War and enabled the establishment of Independent Uruguay.
