Mašínovský mýtus. Ideologie v české literatuře a kultuře od druhé půle dvacátého století k dnešku

Abstract

This dissertation analyses narratives of the Mašín brothers and their father, Josef Mašín senior. The Mašín brothers established what they called 'a resistance group' against the Communist regime in Czechoslovakia, which between 1951 and 1952 killed three people. The brothers, alongside the other member of the group, Milan Paumer, escaped from the country in 1953, heading for the Western sectors of Berlin. Despite more than 20,000 East German and Soviet troops hunting them, the group reached West Berlin safely. Later, the brothers went to the USA where they joined the U.S. army. The dissertation analyzes a whole range of discourses including newspaper articles, historical papers, books, detective stories, novels, memoirs and also one episode of the Czechoslovak television series, Třicet případů majora Zemana ('Major Zeman's Thirty Cases'), entitled Strach ('Fear'), from 1975. The dissertation is conceptually embedded in cultural studies and critical theory. Drawing on Roland Barthesʼs work on mythologies, Hayden Whiteʼs theory of history and Slavoj Žižekʼs theory of ideology, the dissertation considers the relationship of the Mašín brothersʼ narrative representations with respect to the dominant ideology of the time. Tato dizertace analyzuje narativy o bratrech Mašínech a jejich otci Josefu Mašínu seniorovi. Bratři Mašínové založili odbojovou skupinu proti komunistickému režimu a mezi lety 1951 až 1952 zabili tři lidi. V roce 1953 odešli z Československa a směřovali do západního sektoru Berlína. Mašínové s Milanem Paumerem se sem nakonec dostali, přestože byli pronásledováni více než dvaceti tisíci východoněmeckými a sovětskými vojáky a policisty. Tato práce analyzuje celou řadu diskurzů jako jsou novinové články, historické studie a knihy, detektivky, romány, paměti a také epizodu Strach (1975) ze seriálu Třicet případů majora Zemana. Dizertace metodologicky vychází z kulturních studií a kritické teorie. Navazuje na Barthesovy analýzy moderních mytologií, teorii historie Haydena Whita a Žižekovu teorii ideologie. Cílem práce je postihnout vztah mašínovských reprezentací k dominantní ideologii, která byla v platnosti v době jejich vzniku. První kapitola se zabývá narativy vyprodukovanými mezi lety 1955 až 1989. Hlavním empirickým materiálem jsou články z Rudého práva z padesátých let a detektivní příběhy "podle skutečné události", které vycházely v nakladatelství Naše vojsko od šedesátých let až do konce let osmdesátých.
