Specifika běloruské národní identity

Abstract

This Master's thesis provides an in-depth analysis of the Belarusian national identity by focusing on its special features and significant characteristics, its origin, structure and a wide spectrum of factors and conditions which had a considerable impact on the complex national self-identification process. In more general terms, the point of the author's particular concern is the national consciousness as a scientific category whereas the thesis aims at addressing and elaborating on the phenomenon of the national identity in the Belarusian multifaceted socio- cultural and political landscape by submitting an overview of the local population's inherent historic milestones. In this regard, the text's theoretical framework puts a special emphasis on a critical reflection of the most relevant national concepts articulated by contemporary Belarusian scholars, accentuating their overall appeal, novelty, the potential to be applied and tested in the modern Belarus "terrain", major pros and cons. The second chapter concentrates on the current local national identity condition and its evolution in the context of a rigidly authoritarian political pattern, with a special reference to the role of the geopolitical and integration factors and the Belarusians' national consciousness perspectives.

Předkládaná diplomová práce se věnuje problematice běloruské národní identity, konkrétně jejím specifickým rysům, obsahu, struktuře a faktorům dotvářejícím ona specifika. V rámci rozboru kategorie národní identity jako odborného termínu si autorka klade za cíl přiblížit a detailně zanalyzovat fenomén národního vědomí v běloruských podmínkách, a to prostřednictvím zpřehlednění základních historicko-kulturních milníků evoluce identity místních obyvatel. Jeden z teoretických pilířů práce tvoří kritická reflexe nejrelevantnějších běloruských národních projektů současnosti, se zvláštním důrazem na jejich přínos, originalitu, silné stránky, případné defekty a význam pro politickou praxi. Druhá část práce se soustřeďuje na aktuální stav národní identity Bělorusů, speciálně na formování národního vědomí v kontextu autoritarismu, přičemž stěžejní komponentou je analýza vlivu geopolitických a integračních faktorů na sebeidentifikaci populace. Zároveň s tím se autorka pokouší o prognózování vývoje běloruské entity a národní identity v nedemokratickém kontextu.
