Ženy v Jednotě Bratrské

Abstract

V předkládané práci se zabývám ženami v dějinném vývoji Jednoty bratrské. Zkoumám společenské statusy, kterých ženy nejčastěji dosahovaly (manželka, panna), dále zkoumám povinnosti, práva a obecně platné zásady jejich každodenního života. Zaměřila jsem se na významné specifikum Jednoty bratrské - instituci Sester starších. Řeším problematiku dívčího vzdělání v díle J.A. Komenského, posledního biskupa Jednoty bratrské. Pro větší plastičnost a uchopitelnost tématu vkládám životopis jedné z konkrétních žen Jednoty bratrské. Jedná se o významnou podporovatelku Jednoty bratrské Kateřinu z Ludanic, manželku známého šlechtice Petra Voka z Rožmberka.

In my work I address the issue of women throughout the historical development of the Unity of the Brethren (also called Moravian Church). I look into the most common social roles women reached (a wife, a virgin); further I address the obligations, rights and general principles which guided their daily lives. The thesis is focused on a unique element of the Unity; namely the institution of matrons. I also discuss the issue of girls' education in the context of the work of J.A. Comenius (the last bishop of the Unity). In order to achieve greater plasticity and to make the topic more easily accessible, a description of the life of one particular Unity woman is included. Her name is Catherine of Ludanice, she was an important supporter of the Unity of the Brethren and the wife of a well-known nobleman Petr Vok of Rožmberk.
