dc.description.abstract | This text examines the image of a man in three Czechoslovak magazines from the fifties and the seventies. It inspects ways of a construction of this image and its close connections to the social and historical context. It draws on many theories such as structuralism, poststructuralism, social semiotics, cultural studies and men's studies. The text is divided into two main parts - a theoretical and practical part.
