Het motief "Lucifer" in de roman Lucifer van Connie Palmen

Abstract

V mé diplomové práci Motiv 'Lucifera'v románu Lucifer od Connie Palmen se zabývám dvěmi významnými díly z nizozemské literatury. Prvním je trágedie Joosta van den Vondela, Lucifer (1654) a druhým je román Lucifer od současné autorky Connie Palmen. Vondelova tragéedie vychází z knihy Genesis. Podle některých interpetací Bible se anděl Lucifer vzbouřil proti Bohu poté, co se dozvěděl o stvoření lidstva. Považoval lidsvo za hrozbu pro zaběhnutý řád v nebi a bál se, že by lidé mohli zaujmout místo andělů, čímž by andělé přišli o své postavení. Tento jeho omyl vedl k bitvě, ve které se proti sobě postavily dvě skupiny andělů a ve které Lucifer s jeho přívrženci prohrál. Za trest byl Lucifer vyhnán z nebe a na zemi se pomstil na lidech: Eva na jeho popud odolala pokušení a snědla jablko ze stromu poznání. Connie Palmen se inspirovala hlavní postavou této tragédie a napsala román se strukturou aristotelovské tragédie. Jako další inspirace jí ovšem posloužila také nizozemská kulturní scéna šedesátých až devadesátých let. Tento román je tedy nejen napínavým a detektivním příběhem (žena hlavního hrdiny tragicky zahynula za záhadných okolností), ale také jakýmci dokumentem o životě a díle slavného nizozemského skladatele Petera Schata (v románu Lucas Loos) a jiných významných spisovatelů či skladatelů. My final thesis The motif of 'Lucifer' in the novel Lucifer by Connie Palmen discusses two important Dutch literary works: the tragedy Lucifer by Joost van den Vondel (1654) and the novel Lucifer by Connie Palmen (2007). Vondel's tragedy is inspired by the Book of Genesis. According to some particular interpretations of the Bible the angel Lucifer organised a rebellion against God after hearing about creation of mankind. He considered humans as a threat for both heaven and the angels living in there. He believed that through the birth of humans the given order in heaven could have been disturbed. This fatal mistake led to a division of the angels and resulted in an immense battle in which Lucifer and his followers were defeated. As a result Lucifer was expelled from heaven. As revenge he managed to manipulate Eve in the Eden into eating the forbidden fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. The main character of this famous tragedy, Lucifer, inspired Connie Palmen to write a novel with a structure of a classical, Aristotle tragedy. She was also inspired by many Dutch celebrities and important events starting in the sixties, at latest in the nineties in Amsterdam.
