Platonův purpurový stín aneb dvojhlavý plavec na ponorné řece

Abstract

Moje disertační práce je věnována Gorgiovi z Leontín a jeho přítomnosti v Platónových dialozích, jeho vlivu na vývoj Platónova myšlení a významu pro (nejen) platónskou filosofii. Práce sestává z jedné přípravné a ze dvou hlavních částí. Přípravná část nejprve přehodnocuje běžný výklad Platónova pohledu na Gorgiovu rétoriku a následně předkládá podrobnou analýzu Platónova pohledu na sofisty. Ten je konfrontován s dobovým pojmem sofistés, Platónem částečně přijímaným. Dále je ovšem identifikováno typicky terminologické užití pojmu, velmi dobře odpovídající naukám tzv. historických sofistů, zejména Prótagory. Prakticky vůbec ovšem termín nesouhlasí s naukou historického Gorgii, což odpovídá i doloženému Gorgiovu nesouhlasu s tím aby byl mezi tzv. sofisty počítán. Přípravný díl se uzavírá výraznou odlišností obrazu Gorgii a sofistů u Platóna. První díl nejprve krátce rekapituluje výsledky mé diplomové práce, tedy rekonstrukci Gorgiovy filosofie nebytí. Na jejím základě nyní podávám podrobnou interpretaci Gorgiovy Heleny a předkládám návrh komplexní rekonstrukce tragické nauky o logu, tedy gorgiánské rétorické filosofie. Rekonstrukce je potvrzena identifikací této nauky u Ískokrata. Druhý díl představuje vrchol celé práce a je věnován zkoumání Platónova vyrovnání s dobově velmi vlivnou a dle předchozí...

My dissertation is dedicated to Gorgias :from Leontini and his presence in Plato's dialogues; his influence on the development of Plato's thinking and significance for [not only] platonic philosophy. This piece consists of o ne preparatory part and the two main parts. The preparatory part firstly evaluates the ordinary input of Plato's views in Gorgias' rhetoric and subsequently gives a detailed analysis of Plato's opinion of the sophistes. It is con:fronted with the similar expression: sophistes; and Plato's partial acceptance of them. Then, of course, the dissertation identifies the typical terminology used and which corresponds very well to the teachings of such historical sophists as Protagoras. Practically, the term does not correspond with the teachings of the historical Gorgias, which does correspond to Gorgias' wish not to be counted amongst the sophists. The preparatory work concludes that there are marked differences in the image of Gorgias and the sophists from Plato's view. The fb'St part briefly recapitulates the results of my Master thesis, i.e., a reconstruction of Gorgias' philosophy ofnot-being.
