Julio-César Santoyo a jeho přínos k vývoji translatologie

Abstract

The purpose of this work is to evaluate the contribution of Julio-César Santoyo, a contemporary Spanish theoretician, to the development of translation studies. We have provided an overall summary of his work together with an overview of its reception. The analysis of individual works and theoretical knowledge is preceded by an overview of theoretical concepts applied in the 20th century Spain, which serves as an outline of the context and environment which influences this theoretician. We have focused on all three aspects of his work, i.e. theory, criticism and history of translation. Our task was to provide a complete insight into his thinking within these disciplines. Our analysis is based not only on his book publications but also on numerous specialized articles which he has been continuously publishing throughout his entire academic career. Within the translation theory field we have focused on particular issues Santoyo deals with in his works, mainly on defining the meaning, purpose and position of translation in miscellaneous areas of human knowledge and on topics closely linked with translation. Účelem této práce bylo zhodnotit přínos současného španělského teoretika Julia-Césara Santoya k vývoji translatologie. Provedli jsme souhrnnou analýzu díla tohoto translatologa, kterou jsme posléze doplnili o recepci jeho práce. Analýze jednotlivých děl a teoretických poznatků předchází průřez teoretického myšlení ve 20. století ve Španělsku, čímž jsme nastínili kontext a prostředí, ve kterém tento teoretik působí. Zaměřili jsme se na všechny tři oblasti působení tohoto teoretika, tj. teorii, kritiku i dějiny překladu, přičemž naším úkolem bylo podat ucelený pohled na jeho myšlení v rámci těchto disciplín. Vycházeli jsme přitom nejen z jeho monografií, ale i z četných odborných článků, které soustavně publikuje již od počátku své akademické dráhy. V rámci teorie překladu jsme se zaměřili na dílčí otázky, kterým se ve svých pracích věnuje, především na definování smyslu, účelu a postavení překladu v různých oblastech lidského vědění a dále na témata úzce spjatá s překladem. Zmiňme například endosmózu a exosmózu překladu, hranice přeložitelnosti, pomíjivost překladu či úvahy o roli překladu v literatuře a o autorském překladu.
