Adorace vědy v díle Pierra Teilharda de Chardin

Abstract

This work deals with analyze of writings of French scientist in geology and palaeontology, Roman-Catholic priest, Jesuit and religious thinker Pierre Teilharda de Chardin. The aim is to explore and analyse Teilhard's taught about science as adoration, religion of science and belonging question of relationship between science and belief. We would like to map main concepts of Teilhard's thinking in this area that is not still systematically discovered. It is one of the important reasons for choice of this theme of the thesis. Text is divided into two large parts; the first one contains the theoretical introduction into problematic of religious thinking of people. Our interest is aimed at the development of religious systems from the oldest religions as totemism with adoration animal or stone or trees deities, across ancient half-animal Egyptian deities and Greek and Roman gods and goodness to Jewish and Christian invisible God. And then we will follow further development of European religion towards adoration of science and human reason. We will use Durkheim's definition of religious adoration to prove if it is possible to take adoration of science and scientific research as a new religion. Práce se zabývá analýzou textů francouzského vědce v oboru geologie a paleontologie, kněze, člena jezuitského řádu a náboženského myslitele Pierra Teilharda de Chardin. Cílem je vyhledat a prozkoumat Teilhardovy názory na téma vědy jako adorace, náboženství vědy a s tím související otázku vztahu vědy a náboženské víry. Klade si za cíl zmapovat hlavní koncepty Teilhardova myšlení v této oblasti, která není dosud systematicky probádaná, což je také důvode jedním z důvodů volby tohoto tématu. Text je rozdělený do dvou velkých tematických celků. První část práce obsahuje teoretický úvod do problematiky náboženského myšlení, jeho vývoje od uctívání zvířecích a dalších přírodních božstev v období totemismu, který je považován za nejstarší náboženství, přes starověké náboženské systémy antiky, judaismus a křesťanství, až po vznik materialismu a uctívání vědy jako nového náboženství. V této části je také uvedena důležitá definice náboženství podle Durkheima, která je v dalším využita pro zjištění, zda uctívání vědy splňuje podmínky náboženského systému. Dále je diskutována otázka možného soužití vědy a víry v současnosti s ukázkami příkladů zastánců i odpůrců náboženství.
