This thesis explores the topic of conversation in social work. It describes how conversation can serve as a means to understand a person and perceive them in their complexity. The thesis poses two main questions. The first asks how conversation in social work contributes to the perception of the person (the client) and their situation in its complexity, and what may hinder this perception. The second question concerns how philosophy and theology can inspire the understanding of conversation in social work, and how they may support a holistic view of clients' situations by social workers. The aim of the thesis is to answer both of these questions. The thesis first defines conversation in social work, presenting it as a technique, a method, and a part of a theory. It addresses key aspects of conversation, including the formation of the relationship. Further, it discusses how social work understands the complexity of the client's situation through the concept of the "lifeworld," and identifies barriers within the conversation that may prevent a comprehensive understanding of the client. After describing these barriers, the thesis draws inspiration from philosophical and theological authors associated with the philosophy of dialogue. It presents the work of Socrates, Martin Buber, Emmanuel Lévinas,...en_US
Představím práci Sokrata, Martina Bubera, Emmanuela Lévinase, Hanse- Georga Gadamera a Davida Tracyho.
