This thesis analyzes the most commercially successful American feature films made between 2014 and 2024. Its aim is to determine the ratio of original and non-original titles among the highest-grossing films of the period and to identify the factors that influence their commercial success. The thesis provides a theoretical foundation through definitions of key terms, a brief overview of film history, and a presentation of current trends in the film industry. The chosen methodology combines quantitative and qualitative approaches. The quantitative part uses frequency analysis of a sample of the 220 highest-grossing films globally to determine the proportion of original and non-original projects. The qualitative part is carried out in the form of case studies that examine specific strategies leading to the high commercial success of selected films. Based on a synthesis of both approaches, the thesis concludes that the highest-grossing Hollywood films of the period under review are predominantly based on recycled narrative structures, with originality often taking a back seat to the use of existing brands and the continuation of established series. Key factors in their commercial success include the existence of a strong multimedia brand, the creation of a film event, thoughtful work with the...en_US
Zvolená metodologie kombinuje kvantitativní a kvalitativní přístup. V...cs_CZ
