Innere Welten der Figuren und Raummetaphorik im Roman "Daheim" von Judith Hermann

Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with the 2021 novel Daheim by the contemporary German writer Judith Hermann. The main focus of the thesis is analysis and interpretation of the places in the novel as well as their interconnectedness with the inner worlds of the characters of the novel. The thesis consists of three parts. In the first part, the essentials of the novel such as information about the author, the literary and historical background, as well as the summary of the literary work are introduced. The second part can be seen as an introduction to the matter concerned. It occupies itself with the title of the novel, with the theoretical postulates preceding the formulation of the hypotheses, as well as with the "spaces of memory" and the presumed function of the unreliable narrator present in the novel. In the third part, the process of analysis and interpretation as such takes place. Several spatial theories are introduced and implemented and their relevance for the given spatial phenomena is supported with examples from the literary text. Tato diplomová práce se zabývá románem Daheim (česky Doma) z roku 2021 od současné německé spisovatelky Judith Hermann. Stěžejním bodem práce je analýza a interpretace míst, resp. prostorů v díle a jejich souvztažnosti s vnitřními světy románových postav. Práce sestává ze tří částí. V první části jsou představeny nejdůležitější informace o autorce, literárně-historickém kontextu a obsahu díla. Druhou část lze považovat za vstupní bránu do diskutované problematiky. Zabýváme se v ní mj. titulem románu, teoretickými východisky pro formulaci hypotéz, jakož i "prostory vzpomínek" a tím, jakou funkci v románu zastává nespolehlivý vypravěč. Ve třetí části práce se pak věnujeme samotné analýze a interpretaci vybraných prostorových fenoménů. V procesu výkladu se opíráme o teorie prostoru, jejichž relevanci pro daný jev podkládáme praktickými příklady z literárního textu. Hlavním cílem zkoumání je zjistit, jaké funkce jednotlivé románové prostory ve vztahu k dílu jako celku zastávají, nakolik je možné hovořit o propojenosti mezi nimi a románovými postavami, a také jak lze v celkovém kontextu díla interpretovat pojem "d/Daheim" (česky "doma").
