This thesis aspires to examine the portrayal of diverse Irish landscapes in the poetry of William Butler Yeats. Yeats's oeuvre is deeply imbued with a profound sense of place. Many of his works explore specific localities in Ireland, providing vivid depictions of mountains, lakes, woods, trees, and animals that inhabit them. Although Yeats spent much of his life abroad, his poetry is often strongly related to Ireland and Irish places that gave him a sense of purpose and inspiration. One of the key aspects of Yeats's work is his frequent incorporation of named places in Ireland, lending his poetry integrity and actively participating in the formation of a distinct national literature. The locations he chooses are not just ordinary or plain sites; they are embedded in Ireland's rich history, culture, mythology, and folklore. Yeats selects them to help shape the nation's cultural identity. Moreover, these places are intimately tied to his personal experiences. For example, poems like "The Lake Isle of Innisfree" and "The Stolen Child" are inspired by Sligo, a region where Yeats spent some of the most meaningful moments of his childhood. Other poems, such as "The Wild Swans at Coole" and "Coole Park, 1929," are associated with Coole, a locus where Yeats found peace and solace amid a period of political...en_US
Básně jako "The Lake Isle of Innisfree" a "The Stolen Child" čerpají inspiraci z regionu Sligo, kde Yeats strávil některé z nejvýznamnějších okamžiků svého dětství. Dále básně jako "The Wild Swans at Coole" a "Coole Park, 1929" jsou spojeny s Coole, prostředím, kde Yeats nacházel útěchu a klid v období osobních...cs_CZ
