This bachelor thesis explores how individuals interested in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) perceive this form of treatment, what motivates them to consider it, and what concerns they experience during the decision-making process. The aim of the research was to gain an in- depth understanding of the subjective experience of KAP as an emerging therapeutic method in the context of mental health, using thematic analysis of semi-structured interviews. The theoretical part provides an overview of the effects of ketamine, the typical course of KAP, and the current legal framework in the Czech Republic. The findings suggest that participants view KAP as a promising alternative to traditional treatments, particularly when previous methods have failed. Personal growth also emerged as a significant motivation. Participants emphasized the importance of a safe therapeutic setting, proper integration of the experience, and an individualized approach. The main concerns included loss of control, unpredictability of effects, and societal stigma surrounding ketamine. While the results align with previous research, they also highlight the need for further studies focused on legal barriers and public awareness.en_US
