Historický vývoj vnímání queer literatury a recepce vybraných děl

Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with the historical development of queer literature and the analysis of its reception in society. The thesis focuses on key works of queer literature and examines how society's attitudes towards LGBTQ+ issues have changed over time. Works by significant authors such as Oscar Wilde, James Baldwin, E. M. Foster, and Radclyffe Hall, are compared to the works of contemporary authors to identify changes in the level of openness and acceptance of queer topics. The thesis also focuses on the role of literature as a means of expressing identity and as a tool of resistance to normative social pressure. Attention is also paid to how authors have dealt with censorship and social rejection. This thesis aims to compare the differences in historical and contemporary approaches to queer literature and to show how social changes have influenced literary production and reception. Methodologically, the thesis is based on a content analysis of literary texts, which is complemented by the historical context and its influence on the reception of queer literature. The results of this thesis show that the reception of queer literature is closely linked to contemporary social norms and attitudes towards the LGBTQ+ community. Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá historickým vývojem queer literatury a analýzou její recepce ve společnosti. Práce se zaměřuje na klíčová literární díla queer literatury a zkoumá, jak se na základě jejich reflexe v médiích měnil postoj společnosti k LGBTQ+ tématům v průběhu času. Analyzována jsou díla významných autorů, jako jsou Oscar Wilde, James Baldwin, E. M. Foster a Radclyffe Hall, která jsou srovnávána s díly současných autorů, aby byly identifikovány změny v míře otevřenosti a přijetí queer motivů. Dále se práce zaměřuje na roli literatury jako prostředku pro vyjádření identity a jako nástroje odporu proti normativnímu společenskému tlaku. Pozornost je rovněž věnována tomu, jak se autoři vyrovnávali s cenzurou a společenským odmítnutím. Kromě toho se práce zabývá tím, jak jsou queer postavy a motivy reprezentovány v literárních dílech různých kulturních a geografických oblastí. Cílem této práce je porovnat rozdíly v historickém a současném přístupu ke queer literatuře a ukázat, jak společenské změny ovlivnily literární tvorbu a její přijetí. Metodologicky je práce založena na obsahové analýze literárních textů, která je doplněna o historický kontext a jeho vliv na recepci queer literatury.
