uk.abstract.enThe paper turns to some political appropriations of the novel Brave New World by Aldous Huxley and argues against them, using the analysis of some aspects of the fictional world of the novel. It outlines a more thorough analysis of the discourse of the work and offers different parallels between the fictional world and the actual world than those commonly found in the case of Brave New World. The work tries to view Huxley’s novel not through the prism of political analogy, but rather as a critique of mass culture, and to problematize the explicitly political parallels associated with this novel. It also outlines the similarities between Huxley’s critique of mass culture and some theoretical texts that have focused on the analysis of mass culture and media.cs
