Bachelor thesis deals with the health risks associated with the consumption of ultra- processed foods (UPF). The starting point of the thesis is the growing popularity of these foods and their excessive consumption. This raises concerns about their impact on the health status of the population, especially in relation to obesity, type 2 DM, cardiovascular diseases or cancer. The aim of this study is to determine the general awareness of UPF and their negative effects in the population. The practical part is carried out in the form of an anonymous questionnaire survey, which aimed to determine the public awareness of the risks associated with UPF consumption, their consumption and the dietary habits of the respondents. The results show that most respondents consume UPF daily or several times a week and not all of them focus on the ingredients of these foods. Most of the respondents are aware of the risks associated with UPF consumption but are not motivated to change their eating habits and therefore reduce their UPF consumption. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the public is not sufficiently informed about the risks associated with the consumption of UPF. It can be recommended to improve nutrition education in primary and secondary schools or to increase the promotion of unprocessed...en_US
