Abstract

This thesis focuses on analysing the career paths of female journalists in the Czech Republic after 1989, focusing on key factors that influenced their professional development and decision-making. Using oral history methods, the study offers an in- depth view of the experiences and opinions of individual journalists. The main research questions explore the impact of political, economic, and cultural changes on the professional lives of female journalists, the role of family and personal circumstances in career decisions, the transition between different journalistic genres, the influence of foreign models, and gender inequality in leadership positions. The research reveals how these factors influenced their professional and personal lives and how women coped with the challenges they faced in a dynamic media environment. The findings show that despite obstacles such as gender barriers and family obligations, many female journalists succeeded and contributed to the shaping of Czech journalism. This research provides valuable insights into the transformation of the journalistic profession in the post- communist period. Tato diplomova prace se zameruje na analýzu profesních drah novinarek v Česke republice po roce 1989, pricemz se soustredí na klícove faktorý, ktere ovlivnilý jejich karierní rozvoj a rozhodovaní. Výuzíva metodý oralní historie, ktera umoznuje detailní pohled na zkusenosti a nazorý jednotlivých novinarek. Hlavní výzkumne otazký se zamerují na vliv politických, ekonomických a kulturních zmen na profesní zivot novinarek, roli rodinných a osobních okolností pri karierních rozhodnutích, prechod mezi ruznými zurnalistickými zanrý, vliv zahranicních vzoru a genderovou nerovnost v oblasti vedoucích pozic. Výzkum odhaluje, jak týto faktorý ovlivnilý jejich profesní a osobní zivotý, a jak se zený výrovnavalý s výzvami, ktere se pred nimi objevilý v dýnamickem medialním prostredí. Výsledký ukazují, ze navzdorý prekazkam, jako jsou genderove barierý a rodinne zavazký, mnoho novinarek dokazalo uspet a prispet k formovaní ceske zurnalistiký. Tento výzkum prinasí poznatký o promenach novinarske profese v postkomunistickem období a ukazuje na význam rovnosti prílezitostí v profesním zivote zen v mediích.
