Bájné a pohádkové bytosti v maďarské lidové epice

Abstract

Předkládaná diplomová práce mapuje dominantní postavy maďarské pohanské mytologie, které se v průběhu času organicky přeměnily v protagonisty žánrů lidové epiky, v tomto případě lidových pověstí a pohádek. První část diplomové práce je věnována nadpřirozeným bytostem, jež mají prapůvod v představách a pověrách prostého vesnického lidu. Ty se týkaly především rudimentárního vysvětlení přírodních, meteorologických a astronomických jevů či nemocí a problémů, které v myslích lidí doprovázel strach z neznámého nebo neobvyklého, a lidé je nedokázali se svými tehdejšími znalostmi o fungování světa rozumně pochopit. U každé z nadpřirozených postav je na základě etnografické literatury popsána její charakteristika a následně na příkladech pověstí a pohádek ilustrován její konkrétní výskyt. V části druhé jsou tematizovány historické osobnosti předkřesťanského období maďarských dějin, kolem nichž se rovněž vytvořila bohatá narativní tradice. Doplňková část práce obsahuje podoby analyzovaných postav vytvořené pomocí obrázkového generátoru na bázi umělé inteligence, neboť jejich vyobrazení se z důvodu absence písemných pramenů nedochovalo a dosud nebyly pro běžného uživatele k dispozici technologie vhodné pro grafickou rekonstrukci.

The presented diploma thesis describes the dominant figures of Hungarian pagan mythology, who have organically transformed over time into protagonists of the genres of folk epics, in this case folk tales and fairy tales. The first part of the thesis is devoted to supernatural beings whose origins are to be sought in the imaginations and superstitions of the simple village folk. These were mainly concerned with rudimentary explanations of natural, meteorological and astronomical phenomena or diseases and problems, which were accompanied in the minds of the people by fear of the unknown or the unusual, and which they could not reasonably understand with their then knowledge of the processes of the world. For each of the supernatural figures, a characterization is made on the basis of the ethnographic literature and then their specific occurrence is illustrated with examples from folk tales and fairy tales. The second part deals with historical figures of the pre-Christian period of Hungarian history, around whom a rich narrative tradition has also developed.
