Stigmatizace lidí s duševním onemocněním v kontextu psychiatrických diagnóz

Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with the subjective perception of stigmatization of people with mental illness. The aim of this thesis is to find out how stigma is reflected in the life of a person struggling with a mental illness based on a psychiatric diagnosis. What limitations the diagnosis poses to the person, but also what perceived benefits he or she derives from the diagnosis. In the theoretical part, mental illness is defined, then stigma and self-stigma are described. It also presents the specifics of social work with people with mental illness and the reform of psychiatric care in the Czech Republic, which is changing the approach to client care in a bio-psycho-socio-spiritual context. The practical part of the thesis deals with the perspective of people with mental illness on their experience of living with the diagnosis, subjective perception of stigmatization and self-stigmatization. The research traces the relationship between their lived experience and social functioning. Specifically, it focuses on people with illness from the diagnostic range of neurotic spectrum disorders. The research is based on the perspective of people who have used or are using psychiatric help, clients of social services or people with experience of hospitalization.

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá subjektivním vnímáním stigmatizace lidí s duševním onemocněním. Cílem práce je zjistit, jak se stigmatizace promítá do života člověka, který se potýká s duševním onemocněním na základě psychiatrické diagnózy. Jaké pro něj představuje diagnóza limity, ale také jaké vnímá přínosy, které z diagnostikování plynou. V teoretické části je vymezeno duševní onemocnění, dále je popsána především stigmatizace a sebestigmatizace. Rovněž jsou představena specifika sociální práce s lidmi s duševním onemocněním a reforma psychiatrické péče v ČR, díky níž dochází ke změně přístupu péče o klienty v bio-psycho-socio-spirituálním kontextu. Praktická část práce se zabývá pohledem lidí s duševním onemocněním na jejich prožívání života s diagnózou, subjektivní vnímání stigmatizace a sebestigmatizace. Výzkum sleduje vztah jejich prožívání a sociálního fungování. Konkrétně se jedná o lidi s nemocí z diagnostického okruhu poruch neurotického spektra. Výzkum vychází z perspektivy lidí, kteří využili či využívají psychiatrickou pomoc, klientů sociálních služeb nebo lidí se zkušeností s hospitalizací.
