Zobrazování sportovců na českých zpravodajských webech během letních olympijských her v Tokiu 2020 a v Rio de Janeiru 2016

Abstract

The main aim of the thesis is to analyse the portrayal of athletes during the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020 and Rio de Janeiro 2016 on two Czech news websites. In the theoretical part, the theoretical background, which is crucial for understanding the topic under study, is introduced. This includes, for example, the differences between public and tabloid sports media. Furthermore, the specific differences in the reporting of women and men in sport are presented, which has been greatly helped by the results of research already conducted. Last but not least, the history of women in international competitions, especially in the Olympic Games, was mapped. In the methodological section, the aim, sub-tasks and main research question of the thesis are described in more detail. It also outlines the research file and the method of data collection. The hypotheses and research question of the thesis are also elaborated, as well as the quantitative variables and qualitative indicators. In the analytical section, the results for the individual Olympic Games are already presented, showing, for example, that men athletes received more overall media coverage, in terms of number of media texts and length of media texts, than female athletes. Hlavním cílem diplomové práce je analýza zobrazovaní sportovců a sportovkyň během letních olympijských her v Tokiu 2020 a v Riu de Janeiru 2016 na dvou českých zpravodajských webech. V teoretické části jsou představena teoretická východiska, jež jsou stěžejní pro pochopení zkoumaného tématu. Jedná se například o rozdíly mezi veřejnoprávními a bulvárními sportovními médii. Dále o uvedení konkrétních rozdílů v informování o ženách a mužích ve sportu, k čemuž výrazně pomohly výsledky již uskutečněných výzkumů. V neposlední řadě byla zmapována historie žen v mezinárodních soutěžích, a to zejména na olympijských hrách. V metodické části je konkrétněji popsán cíl, dílčí úkoly a hlavní výzkumná otázka práce. Rovněž je zde přiblížen výzkumný soubor a metoda sběru dat. Představeny jsou i hypotézy a výzkumná otázka práce a kvantitativní proměnné i kvalitativní ukazatele. V analytické části jsou již prezentovány výsledky u jednotlivých olympijských her, vyplynulo z nich například, že sportovcům se dostalo celkově většího mediálního pokrytí, co do počtu mediálních textů a jejich délky, než sportovkyním. Média zároveň informovala vyrovnaně o Češích a Češkách a zahraničních sportovcích. Nejčastěji zobrazovaným sportem se u mužů stala kanoistika a u žen tenis.
