Digitální propast a šíření dezinformací v období pandemie COVID-19

Abstract

This thesis focuses on two main topics: the digital divide and the spread of misinformation during the COVID-19 pandemic. The theoretical part is dedicated to the first mentions of the digital divide and introduces some of the main people who dealt with this area. The thesis follows up with the measurement and for a better understanding there are presented the data associated with the digital divide in 2021. In the next part, basic concepts from the field of disinformation are described, which are placed not only in a historical context, but also in the current reality. An example could be fake news that appeared during the COVID-19 pandemic. The next chapter deals with defense techniques against disinformation, both domestically and internationally. The results of a global study by the World Health Organization, which investigated ways of obtaining and working with information about the COVID-19 pandemic, are presented at the end of the theoretical part. In the practical part, the findings from this study were applied to the Czech Republic, with the help of a quantitative method in the form of a questionnaire survey with more than three hundred respondents. Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na problematiku digitální propasti a šíření dezinformací v období pandemie COVID-19. Teoretická část se věnuje prvním zmínkám o digitální propasti a představuje některé z osobností, které se touto oblastí zabývaly. Jsou zde vysvětleny měřící metody a pro lepší pochopení jsou také uvedena data spojená s digitální propastí v roce 2021. V další části jsou uvedeny základní pojmy z oblasti dezinformací, které jsou zasazeny nejen do historického kontextu, ale i do současnosti. Příkladem mohou být fake news, které se objevily během pandemie COVID-19. Další kapitola se zabývá obrannými technikami proti dezinformacím, a to jak z tuzemského, tak mezinárodního hlediska. V závěru teoretické části jsou představeny výsledky celosvětové studie Světové zdravotnické organizace, která zkoumala způsoby získávání a práci s informací o pandemii COVID-19. V praktické části byly poznatky z této studie zasazeny do České republiky, a to za pomoci kvantitativní metody formou dotazníkového šetření u více než tři sta respondentů. Získaná data jsou pak následně částečně porovnána s výsledky z mezinárodní studie WHO. Cílem je získat základní porovnání mezi vzorkem české a zahraniční populace a potvrdit či vyvrátit předem stanovené hypotézy.
