Analýza speciálně pedagogických potřeb seniorů se zrakovým postižením

Abstract

The main subject of this thesis is to determine the special educational needs of seniors with visual impairment. It aims at seniors that must adapt not only to the specific changes brought by the old age but also to the loss of eyesight or the decline of the ability to see, which initiates new needs of these people. This thesis analyses such specific needs within the context of the quality of life of the elderly with this disability. The purpose of this thesis is to describe the requirements, to assess whether they are fulfilled sufficiently and whether the activation and care provided to the seniors bring a way of life that is meaningful and satisfying. It also estimates which activities and tools are preferred the most in their everyday life. Through the qualitative research, the methods used to converse with the disabled seniors and their care assistants in the Retirement Home Palata, this thesis brings several categories concerning the special educational needs that influence the quality of life of the elderly. The application of this research might be useful in the special educational support of the seniors with visual impairment, for example, in the process of adaptation of the seniors to the disability and in case of supporting their independence and contentment. Diplomová práce se zabývá speciálně pedagogickými potřebami seniorů se zrakovým postižením. Zaměřuje se na seniory, kteří se v závěrečné etapě svého života musí adaptovat nejen na specifické změny, které stáří přináší, ale také na ztrátu zraku či snížení zrakových schopností, což vede k nově vzniklým potřebám těchto osob. Diplomová práce tyto specifické potřeby analyzuje v kontextu kvality života seniorů s tímto handicapem. Cílem je popsat, jaké tyto potřeby jsou, zda jsou dostatečně naplňovány, zda aktivizace a péče, která je těmto seniorům poskytována, jim přináší smysluplný a plnohodnotný způsob života, a také které aktivity a pomůcky ve svém každodenním životě nejvíce preferují. Skrze kvalitativní výzkum, pomocí metody rozhovorů, přímo se seniory se zrakovým postižením, a jejich ošetřovateli v Domově Palata, přináší tato práce několik kategorií, týkajících se speciálně pedagogických potřeb těchto seniorů, které mají vliv na kvalitu života ve stáří. Výsledky této práce mohou být užitečné při uplatnění speciálně pedagogické podpory seniorům se zrakovým postižením v praxi, například v procesu adaptace seniora na zrakové postižení, v podpoře jeho samostatnosti a životní spokojenosti.
