Tvorba v oceli u vybraných českých a britských umělců od roku 1990 do současnosti

Abstract

The clean shiny surfaces that steel allows can be used to create art. These are not necessarily separate sculptures, but also experimental metallurgical fire painting on steel surfaces. Bachelor thesis introduces stainless steel objects of leading British sculptors, Anthony Caro, Tony Cragg or Anish Kapoor. Even in the Czech Republic, work with this alloy is not neglected. The work focuses on large sculptures of Aleš Veselý, steel combined with glass in the creation of Marian Karel and stainless steel sculptures of Michal Gabriel. The speech then turns to metal paintings by Ladislav Vlna, which he creates by heating steel plates. I am interested in the relationship between Czech and foreign artists working with this alloy. I ask if it is possible to create quality art from this metal, which is most often used in industrial production. Čisté lesklé povrchy, které ocel umožňuje, můžou být využívány k vytváření umění. Nemusí se jednat nutně o samostatné sochy, ale například i o experimentální metalurgickou malbu ohněm na ocelové plochy. Bakalářská práce seznamuje s nerezovými objekty předních britských sochařů, kterými jsou Anthony Caro, Tony Cragg nebo Anish Kapoor. Ani u nás v České republice není práce s touto slitinou opomíjená. Práce se zaměřuje na rozměrné sochy Aleše Veselého, ocel v kombinaci se sklem v tvorbě Mariana Karla a nerezové sochy Michala Gabriela. Řeč se poté obrací ke kovovým obrazům Ladislava Vlny, které vytváří ohříváním ocelových desek. Zajímá mě vztah mezi českými a zahraničními umělci pracujícími s touto slitinou. Kladu si otázku, zda je možné tvořit kvalitní umění z tohoto kovu, který je nejčastěji využíván při průmyslové výrobě.
