Pomníky a monumenty 28. října 1918: politika paměti jako nástroj české historické dominance

Abstract

The proposed thesis will investigate the representations and instrumentalizations of artistic objects in public space as a case of retrospective historical construction affecting the relationship between Czech and Slovak nations during the period of the First Czechoslovak Republic. Memorials and monuments that remember the creation of the Czechoslovak Republic constitute the object of the analysis. They will subsequently be investigated as medium used for the construction of a specific historical narrative that will be further analysed in the thesis. Photodocumentation of the monuments, accessible audio-visual information conatining actors' expressions and further archival materiál concerning the analysed memorials will be used as primary sources. Práce se zabývá reprezentací instrumentalizací uměleckých objektů ve veřejném prostoru za účelem retrospektivní konstrukce historické představy vztahů mezi českým a slovenským národem v období 1. republiky. Objektem výzkumu jsou pomníky a monumenty připomínající vznik Československé republiky. Ty jsou v práci pojímány jako prostředek využívaný ke konstrukci konkrétního historického narativu, kterým se bude dále zabývat. Práce k analýze kromě historických metod využívá postkoloniální teorie, teorie o nacionalismu, politologické a kunsthistorické přístupy. Pramenná základna bude sestávat především z fotodokumentace samotných pomníků, dostupných vyjádření historických aktérů (zejména autorů pomníků) a jiných archivních materiálů, které se pomníků týkají.
