First, it substantiates the importance of research on game representations of the past and proposes a basic terminology. Based on the development of general game studies, the text deals with the current research on history of digital games and especially on the history in digital games. In the last part, the subject of study is problematized and current analyses of the approach of game developers and players to the historical elements of digital games are analyzed. The conclusion places the research in the broader context of the field of public history. | cs |
