Alzheimerova choroba - pokroky v léčbě a diagnostice

Abstract

The bachelor thesis compiled the up-to-date theoretical knowledge about Alzheimer's disease focused on its diagnosis and treatment. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the dementia syndrome and Alzheimer's disease in general. The clinical signs, stages and forms of Alzheimer's disease are described here, and there is also briefly summarized information about prevalence and risk factors. The next part discusses the pathophysiology and pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease, and the main hypotheses of the disease development are also described in this part. The chapter dealing with diagnostics is divided into diagnostic process, diagnostic criteria, laboratory tests and imaging methods. The chapter mainly describes the already established clinical, laboratory and imaging methods used in the clinical practice as well as methods that could be introduced into clinical practice in the future. Scientific research focuses on biomarkers related to pathological process of Alzheimer's disease. In the last part of bachelor's thesis are presented the possibilities of the therapy, including the symptomatic treatment, even the advances in treatment of amyloid β deposition. Bakalářská práce se zabývá teoretickým zpracováním informací o Alzheimerově chorobě a je zaměřena zejména na její diagnostiku a terapii. První část práce se věnuje syndromu demence a Alzheimerově chorobě obecně. Jsou zde popsány klinické příznaky, stádia a formy Alzheimerovy choroby, a také krátce shrnuty informace o prevalenci a rizikových faktorech. V další části je rozebrána patofyziologie a patogeneze Alzheimerovy choroby, dále jsou v této části popsány také hlavní hypotézy vzniku onemocnění. Kapitola pojednávající o diagnostice je rozdělena na diagnostický postup, diagnostická kritéria, laboratorní vyšetření a zobrazovací metody. V kapitole jsou popsány již zavedené klinické, laboratorní a zobrazovací metody, jež se využívají v klinické praxi lékařů, a také metody, které by se mohly do budoucna zavést do klinické praxe. Vědecký výzkum se zabývá především objevováním a zkoumáním biomarkerů, které vznikají v souvislosti s patologickým procesem Alzheimerovy choroby. V poslední části bakalářské práce jsou uvedeny možnosti terapie, která je v současnosti zaměřena převážně na symptomy a nově také na hlavní patologický proces v mozku - ukládání amyloidu β.
