Iluminované rukopisy Albrechta ze Šternberka a jejich okruh

Abstract

The text disserts upon the iluminated manuscripts of the 14th century. The main interest is focused on the codices group of an illuminator generally refered to as the Master of Sternberg manuscripts. Possibly the oldest of them might be the Graduale for the monastery of Augustinian Hermits in Ročov (SOkA Louny, I G 7). This manuscript, unfortunately not completed, was ordered by Albertus de Kolowrat. Yet the most important offer came to the illuminator from Albertus de Sternberg, the Bishop of Litomyšl, for whom the Liber pontificalis (Prague, Library of Strahov Abbey, DG I 19) and the Bible (Kraków, Biblioteka Jagiellonska, 284/I a II) were created. This illuminator's ouvre is certainly one of the first-rate artistic enterprises among manuscript illumination of the time. The Old Testament from the Library of Prague National Museum ( KNM XV B 4) is sometimes also associated with the Master of Sternberg manuscripts and considered his oldest work. Nevertheless, as this thesis aims to show, this codex belongs among a different, already defined manuscript group. V předkládané práci chci se dotknout rukopisů, jejichž původ lze spojit s iluminátorským uměním Mistra rukopisů Albrechta ze Šternberka, a několika rukopisů, které na toto umění navazují, přesněji dílnou Mistra Bible ze Sadské. Nemůžeme zde proto přejít mlčením ani některé související problémy, poněkud více se však soustředíme i na časově předcházejícího Mistra rukopisu Utino. Přes svou relativní úzkost má vymezené téma četná úskalí a i my se budeme nejednou pohybovat na půdě hypotéz. Dříve než se pustíme proti proudu času, proderme se houštinami literatury.2 Mistr rukopisů Albrechta ze Šternberka vstoupil do odborného povědomí poměrně záhy. Zasloužil se o to Gottfried Johann Dlabač, který si v Pontifikálu litomyšlského biskupa Albrechta ze Šternberka povšiml zprávy o písaři Hodíkovi a ten se mu stal i iluminátorem tohoto kodexu.3 Ani Josef Chytil, ani Ant. Podlaha s Isidorem Zahradníkem nebyli si ztotožněním iluminátora jisti, 4 Ant. Matějček přešel problém mlčením a ještě Toman věnoval Hodíkovi alespoň drobné heslo,5 pozdější literatura však už raději s tímto malířem nepracovala a vyjadřovala se k ztotožnění rezervovaně.6 Se ztrátou víry v prokazatelnou existenci malíře a zároveň s přesvědčením o poměrně nízké kvalitě díla bylo toto připraveno o soustředěnější pozornost, ačkoliv nepřestávalo poutat svým...
