Příběhy psané sportovci: Nové platformy The Players'Tribune a Bez frází

Abstract

This thesis deals with the projects of ThePlayersTribune.com and its younger Czech equivalent Bezfrazi.cz. Both websites were created in recent years and their ambition is to change the stereotypical view of athletes brought by traditional media. These platforms give athletes the space to present themselves in their own words and also to be a part of the editing process. Athletes on the websites share their life stories, which are very inspiring and often contains overlap beyond the sports environment. Thus, readers can infiltrate to the lives of famous or less-known athletes, and also, thanks to the first-person storytelling, perceive situations from their perspective. No thesis has dealt with this topic, yet, and so this diploma thesis is conceived as a case study, the aim of which was to introduce, describe the functioning and compare both projects. It deals with their significance for sports journalism, the role of the journalist in mediating stories, verifying the facts in stories and the popularity of stories from the sports environment in general. The diploma thesis also includes own classification of typologically identical stories published on the platforms The Players' Tribune and Bez frází. The stories are qualitatively analyzed. Tato diplomová práce se věnuje projektům ThePlayersTribune.com a její mladší české obdobě Bezfrazi.cz. Obě webové stránky vznikly v posledních letech a jejich ambicí je změnit zažitý stereotypní pohled na sportovce, který přinášejí tradiční média. Jedná se o platformy poskytující sportovcům prostor se vyjádřit jejich vlastními slovy a být také součástí editačního procesu. Sportovci na webových stránkách sdílí své životní příběhy, které jsou velmi inspirativní a často mají přesah mimo sportovní prostředí. Čtenáři tak mohou proniknout do života slavných i méně známých sportovců, a i díky vyprávění v první osobě vnímat situace z jejich perspektivy. Toto téma dosud nebylo zpracováno, a tak je práce pojata jako případová studie, jejímž cílem bylo představit a srovnat oba projekty. Zabývá se jejich významem pro sportovní žurnalistiku, rolí novináře při zprostředkování příběhů, ověřováním faktů v příbězích a celkovou oblíbeností příběhů ze sportovního prostředí. Součástí diplomové práce je také vlastní klasifikace typologicky stejných příběhů vyskytujících se na platformách The Players' Tribune a Bez frází, které jsou kvalitativně analyzovány. Pozornost je při analýze věnována především narativní struktuře jednotlivých příběhů a konceptům hrdinského mýtu, se kterým editoři při psaní těchto příběhů pracují...
