Abstract

This master thesis deals with the topic of the natural place and the place which is changed by people's activity. It deals with topic of genius loci, problems of loss of the place and our relationship to place where we live. In more detail it is focused on the city and its peripherals. It offers a short wiew to the history of cities and their periphery, architecture and urban planning. The thesis also deals with fine arts associated with the urban environment - artists, for which the city was and is an inspiration and a theme and with the role of art in public spaces. Research part of the thesis is aimed at children's perception of the place where we live. Through qualitative research methods I am trying to find out what is the meaning of the word "home" for todays children, how they percieve their close surroundings and what is the development of their thinking. The didact part of the thesis offers collection of art assigments for children with topic of the city that should increase children's perception of the urban environment. Some of them are inspirated by psychological geography which is based on the human perception of the environment and its reflection in our consciousness. Diplomová práce se zabývá v obecnější rovině charakteristikou místa přírodního i kulturně přetvořeného člověkem, jeho geniem loci i problematikou ztráty místa a našeho vztahu k místu, kde žijeme. Podrobněji je pak zaměřena na město a jeho periferií. Nabízí krátký pohled do historie vzniku měst, architektury a urbanismu a fenoménu městské periferie. Práce se také zabývá českým výtvarným uměním, které je spojeno s městským prostředím - umělci, pro které bylo a je město inspirací a námětem, ale také rolí výtvarného umění ve veřejném prostoru. Výzkumná část práce je zaměřena na dětské vnímání místa, kde žijeme. Prostřednictvím metod kvalitativního výzkumu se pokouší zjistit, co vše považují současné děti za svůj domov, jak vnímají své bezprostřední okolí i jak se jejich uvažování vyvíjí. V didaktické části práce nabízí tematickou výtvarnou řadu na téma Město, jejímž cílem je prohloubit dětské vnímání městského prostředí. V části úkolů jsou použity metody psychogeografie, která se zabývá lidským vnímáním životního prostředí a jeho odrazem v našem vědomí. Součástí jsou také pedagogické reflexe realizovaných výtvarných úkolů. Závěr práce je věnován činnosti pražského sdružení CAMP (Centrum architektury a městského plánování) a jeho edukačním aktivitám.
