Diagnostika diabetes mellitus

Abstract

Bakalárska práca sa zaoberá problematikou chronickej choroby diabetes mellitus, pri ktorej dochádza k zmenám homeostázy glukózy. V minulosti sa jednalo o veľmi zriedkavé ochorenie, no postupná zmena spôsobu života v priebehu 20. storočia viedla k jeho prudkému nárastu. Práca popisuje patogenézu ochorenia a rozlišuje jednotlivé typy diabetu na základe súčasných etiologických znalostí o jeho vývoji a manifestácii. Pacienti s cukrovkou sú napriek liečbe inzulínom, orálnymi prípravkami a diétou ohrození predčasným vznikom akútnych a chronických komplikácií, ktoré sú v práci taktiež zahrnuté. Práca sa zameriava na laboratórne vyšetrovacie metódy pri diagnostike diabetes mellitus, ktoré posudzujú všeobecný zdravotný stav pacienta a predstavujú podstatnú časť pri odhalení tohto civilizačného ochorenia. The bachelor thesis deals with problematics of chronic diabetes mellitus which changes in glucose homeostasis occur. In the past, it was a very rare disease, but a gradual change in the way of life during the 20th century led to its rapid increase. The thesis describes the pathogenesis of the disease and distinguishes between different types of diabetes based on current etiological knowledge of its development and manifestation. Despite treatment with insulin, oral preparations and diet, patients with the diabetes are at risk of premature emergence of acute and chronic complications, which are also included in the work. The thesis is focused on laboratory investigative methods in the diagnosis of diabetes mellitus, which assess the general health of the patient and represent a substantial part in the discovery of this civilization disease.
