Abstract

Ondřej Krása, Příčiny vzniku světa v Platónově Tímaiu Abstrakt disertační práce Předkládaná práce si klade za cíl vyložit příčiny vzniku světa v Platónově Tímaiu. Vznik světa má dle Tímaia řadu příčin. Demiurg vytvořil svět podle věčně jsoucího vzoru, kterým je rozumový živočich zahrnující vše věčně jsoucí. Demiurg, který je nejlepším z věčně jsoucího, stvořil svět jako nápodobu tohoto celku věčně jsoucího. Jak se však k sobě má věčně jsoucí demiurg, který je rozumem, a celek věčně jsoucího, které je rozumem poznatelné? Tímaios popisuje věčně jsoucí jako to, co nemá vztahy k ničemu jinému než samo k sobě. Demiurg je oproti tomu tím, čím je, na základě vztahu ke vznikajícímu světu. Rozum vztahuje bytí, které je rozumem poznatelné a založené na soběstačných vztazích, ke vznikání, které plně poznatelné není, a tvoří tak celek věčně jsoucího. Svět vznikl v příjemkyni jako oduševnělé tělo. Jednotlivá těla jsou pravidelnými geometrickými tvary, které vznikají v prostoru a které nemají žádnou látku v úzkém slova smyslu. Prostor však není jen tím, v čem těla vznikají, ale je i tím, čeho formováním těla vznikají. V prostoru jsou dle Tímaia i duše, jejich bytí v prostoru je však zásadně jiné než bytí těl. Duše je takovým způsobem bytí, který zobrazuje jiné podoby bytí v řeči, a její způsob bytí v prostoru umožňuje...

Ondřej Krása, Causes of the Creation of the World in Plato's Timaeus Abstract of the Thesis The aim of the thesis is to explain the causes of the creation of the world in Plato's Timaeus. The causes of the creation of the world are manifold. The Demiurge created the world according to an eternal paradigm. The paradigm of the world is an intelligible animal that encompasses everything that is eternal. The Demiurge is the best of eternal beings and created the world as an image of the entirety of eternal beings. What is then the relationship between the Demiurge, who is reason, and the entirety of eternal beings, that reason can comprehend? Timaeus characterizes the eternal being as having no other relationships than those towards itself. On the contrary, the Demiurge is a being that has constitutive relationships towards the world. The entirety of being that consists of both the Demiurge and that, which is in itself, is therefore a being in which reason relates self-contained relationships of that, which reason can comprehend, towards something else, namely becoming. The world was created in a receptacle as an embodied soul. Each body is a regular geometrical figure with no "matter" inside. Bodies are both in space and they are modifications of space.
