It focuses on Jewish survivors who declared that they had German nationality in the 1930 census. Not all Jews who had lived in pre-war Czechoslovakia were allowed (after the end of the Second World War) to take Czechoslovak citizenship. Those who were barred from doing so were largely Czechoslovak Jews with German nationality or German-speaking Jews. The article describes their efforts to obtain Czechoslovak citizenship. The author concentrates on their post-war fears of being expelled from Czechoslovakia. The article focuses on the efforts of the Jewish representatives to protect and help the German Jews.
